🚀 GroupSocial Update: What’s New and What’s Fixed!

We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes improving your experience on GroupSocial. Thanks to your feedback and our dedicated team, here’s a roundup of the latest improvements now live on the platform:

🆕 New Features

• New Categories to Match With You can now select from more categories on your profile, including:
  

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Creator Stays (Airbnb)

• New Footer Post Button Posting just got easier! Start a new post from the bottom menu via the “+” icon. We've moved chat to the top right to make room.

🔧 Fixes & Improvements

Feed & Discover

• Fixed: Location filters not applying properly in the feed. Now only relevant matches show.

• Fixed: Last viewed profiles now update in real time.

• Fixed: Pull-to-refresh is working again—just like you'd expect on any top app.

• Improved: Better messaging when no Discover suggestions are available.
  

Profiles

• Fixed: Profiles no longer show “None” or “Unknown” for empty fields.

• Fixed: Squashed video thumbnails are now crisp and clean.

• Fixed: Twitch has been removed from profile options.

• Fixed: Location and profile setup now sync better across sections.

• Updated: Twitter is now correctly labeled as X (Twitter).

• Fixed: Video uploads on profiles are now working smoothly.

• Fixed: Blank popups no longer appear when visiting your own profile.

• Updated: Minimum location radius is now 1 mile to avoid errors.
  

Messaging & Communication

• Fixed: DM links now include a “Log in to reply” button.

• Fixed: Brand names now correctly appear in connection requests.

• Fixed: You’ll now see clearer alerts and better push messages across both Apple and Android.

• Fixed: Video upload limits in DMs have been increased—and if a file is too large, you'll see a clear message.

• Fixed: You can now add line breaks in chat messages.

• Added: Ability to mark messages as unread or archive them to keep things organized.
  

Speed & Usability

• Improved: Profile pages and chat images now load faster.

• Improved: Members now appear more quickly on the map.

• Improved: Better loading messages and feedback across the app when things take a moment.
  

🛠 Minor But Mighty Fixes

• Fixed: Links in posts or DMs that end in a “.” no longer break.

• Fixed: Extra spacing under posts on the feed removed.

• Fixed: Chat and alert buttons now behave consistently.

• Fixed: "Sign up as a Brand" now reads “Sign Up as a Brand or Agency”.
